How To Operate Pulmomate Compressor Nebulizer?
- Put Devilbiss Pulmomate Compressor Nebulizer 4650D on a leveled surface such that the controls can be reached when seated. Never block the air openings or place it on a soft surface, such as lap or bed where the air openings may block.
- Open door to storage compartment.
- Make sure the power switch is in the "Off" position. Unwrap power cord and plug power cord into an appropriate wall outlet. Plug model 4650D into a grounded wall outlet.
- Wash hands.
- Connect one end of the nebulizer tubing to the compressor air-outlet connector
- Assemble clean nebulizer and add prescribed medication.
- Assemble mouthpiece, t-piece and corrugated tubing. Insert them into the top of the nebulizer cap. If using an aerosol mask, insert the bottom part of the mask directly into the top of the nebulizer cap.
- Attach tubing to nebulizer air-inlet connector.
- Press the power switch "On" to start the Pulmomate Nebulizer 4650D.
- Begin treatment by placing the mouthpiece between teeth. With mouth closed, inhale deeply and slowly through mouth as aerosol begins to flow. Then exhale slowly through the mouthpiece. Simply press power switch "off", if treatment needs to be interrupted.
- If an aerosol mask is used, place the mask over mouth and nose. As aerosol begins to flow, inhale deeply and slowly through mouth, then exhale slowly.
- When treatment is complete, turn unit off by pressing the power switch to the "Off" position. Unplug Devilbiss PulmoMate Compressor Nebulizer System from the wall power outlet.
How To Clean Pulmomate Compressor Nebulizer?
PulmoMate Nebulizer Cleaning
- All Pulmomate Nebulizer Parts, except tubing, should be cleaned.
- With power switch in the "Off" position, unplug power cord from wall outlet.
- Disconnect tubing from the air-inlet connector and set aside.
- Disassemble mouthpiece or mask from cap. Open up the nebulizer by twisting cap counter-clockwise and removing baffle.
- In a warm water/dish washing detergent solution wash all items except tubing.
- Rinse under warm tap water for 30 seconds to remove detergent residue.
- Allow to air dry.
PulmoMate Compressor Cleaning
- With power switch in the "Off" position, unplug power cord from wall outlet.
- Wipe clean the compressor cabinet with a damp cloth every few days to keep it dust-free.
